The City of Columbus is transitioning resident, business and institution parking permits to a new virtual system. At this time, applications will only be accepted in the East Franklinton (EF), Children's Hospital (CH), Short North (SNA, SNB, SNC, SND, SNE and VG), and University District (UDA, UDB, UDC, O, and H) areas. Please allow up to ten (10) business days to process your initial application. If permits are needed sooner, please visit us at 2700 Impound Lot Road. We are open 10am-5pm, Monday through Friday.

Before beginning, carefully read the permit terms and conditions and make note of the details below:

  • Pay special attention to the required documents listed and be ready to upload when prompted.
  • Documents must be submitted as .PDF or .JPG. Check the file extension of your documents before uploading, and convert to the appropriate extension as needed.
  • There is a 8MB size limit for uploaded documents. You may need to compress documents before upload.
  • You can upload a maximum of four (4) documents. You will need to combine documents if you have more than four (4) individual documents.
  • Expired, unsigned or missing documents may result in a delay or denial of the application.

What happens after I submit my application?
Upon receipt of your application, a Division of Parking Services staff member will review and determine if you are eligible to receive the permit(s) requested. You will receive an email notifying you of the determination. If your request is approved, the email will contain a link to pay for your permit(s). As part of the payment process, you will also create a personal log in so that you can manage and request additional permits.

Once paid, you will not receive a sticker and/or hangtag in the mail. The permits are virtual, meaning that each permit is linked to the license plate on file.
