As part of the review process, you will be allowed to upload documentation to support your written protest. The hearing officer’s decision will be sent to you by U.S. mail.

California Vehicle Code Section 40215 and Public Utilities Code Section 99581 require that the citation fine(s) be paid prior to a hearing. To pay, please go to www.sfmta.com/paycitation and then return here to submit your hearing request. If you are unable to pay your citation, you may be eligible for a waiver of the fine payment prior to the hearing. To find more information regarding a Hearing Payment Waiver, please visit www.SFMTA.com/Verification and complete the Low Income Verification Form. Please note that you will not be able to submit your hearing request online if you submit a hearing payment waiver form.

Please note that if the citation's fine is over $200, or two more citations have fines totaling over $200, the hearing deposit is waived. If this is the case, you will not be able to request a hearing on this page. To request your hearing, please email hearingsgeneral@sfmta.com. Please provide your citation number in your email.
