Welcome to the Central Zone Permit Application!

Before You Get Started, Requirements for a Central Zone Permit Are Below:

Proof of residency in Central Zone

  • Definition of Central Zone Location: For Santa Monica residents who live within the area bounded by Seaside Terrace to the north, Pico Boulevard to the south, Ocean Avenue on the east, and the Pacific Ocean on the west ONLY
  • Acceptable proof of residency includes a
    1. Utility bill,
    2. Bank statement, or
    3. Credit card bill from the last 30 days only.
  • Santa Monica does not accept driver's licenses, leases, rental agreements, IDs, cellphone bills, or vehicle registrations.
  • The name shown in the document must match the eligible applicant's name. The service address shown in the document must match the eligible address.

If requesting Resident permits - Proof of residency as defined above PLUS:

  1. Valid California vehicle registration reflecting the eligible applicant's name and the eligible address
  2. No temporary registrations or documentation and no outstanding parking citations in the City of Santa Monica on the license plate(s) listed below
  3. Please note: New residents with only a lease/rental agreement may purchase one month's parking only

Other Rules for Application

  1. Landlords and building managers should not submit an application on this website. Instead, landlords and building managers should visit the program web site at https://www.smgov.net/Departments/PCD/Permits/Overnight-Resident-Beach-Parking-Permit for permit requirements
  2. Maximum of two (2) guest permits and two (2) resident permits allowed per eligible address
  3. Permits are not valid on RV's, commercial vehicles, or vehicles that take up more than one standard parking stall; permits are not transferrable to any other person
  4. NO REFUNDS for lost, confiscated, unwanted, unused, or partial period-used permits
