Citation payments can be made online, by mail, over the telephone, or in-person.

Neither the City of Santa Monica, nor any of its partners including Xerox, will initiate unrequested contact with you via email regarding paying a parking citation. If you receive an unsolicited email, please disregard it and do not make any payments via the links contained in the email. The email is a scam and you should not open or click on any links in the email. We apologize for all inconvenience created by the email. The only online payment site for the City of Santa Monica Parking Citations is http://paytickets.smgov.net . Any questions regarding the authenticity of a notice should be directed to our Customer Service Department at (800) 214-1526.

Credit Card Payment by Telephone
Payments may be made by Visa, MasterCard, or American Express through our automated telephone system at:

You may make a telephone credit card payment 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Simply select the credit card payment option from our automated voice response system and follow the instructions given.

Mail Your Payment
Depending upon the type of citation you received, you were either provided with a pre-addressed payment envelope or the citation itself functions as a payment envelope.

The City of Santa Monica accepts mailed in payments by check, money order, and cashier's check. Payments must be made in U.S. dollars. Place your citation number(s) on your check or money order. Please DO NOT send cash or credit card numbers through the mail. Make checks payable to the City of Santa Monica and send to the following address:

Proof of COVID-19 full vaccination is required to enter the Public Service Centers.
If you prefer to make a payment in person, or would like a receipt for your payment, you may do so at the following location Monday to Friday from 9am-5pm:

Visa, MasterCard, and American Express payments are accepted by phone or online. All payments must be made in U.S. currency.

Low-Income Payment Plans
Low-income payment plans are available to those who submit an application and supporting documentation. Eligibility is based on monthly income that is 200% or less of the current poverty guidelines, per U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and/or receive public assistance benefits.

Please download and review the Low-Income Payment Plan Guidelines and Application to review the specific criteria. You may submit your application through our online Low Income Payment Plan Application Form, or mail it in. Applications must be received within 60 calendar days from issuance of a notice of parking violation, or 10 days after the administrative hearing determination, whichever is later. If approved, there is a $5 enrollment fee.

Applicants currently on California DMV registration hold may apply, one-time only, and are subject to a $5 late fee, in addition to the enrollment fee.
