How To Make a Payment
Parking Tickets:
You must pay or contest your parking ticket within 15 days of the date
the ticket was issued. If payment is not received within this time, the
ticket will be considered delinquent and late fees will be added. With
the addition of late fees, your parking fines will significantly increase
over the amount of the original ticket.
If the ticket remains unpaid, the following steps will be taken:
- Fifteen (15) days after the ticket issue date, a penalty of $10 will
be added.
- Forty-five (45) days after the ticket issue date, another $15 penalty
will be added.
- A judgment will be issued by the City of Cleveland if the ticket remains
unpaid twenty (20) days after the second delinquency notice.
- If three or more delinquent tickets are incurred, a BMV registration
Hold will be placed on the vehicle. The $5 fee charged by the BMV to
place the hold will also be added.
- Notification may be made to an established Credit Bureau Reporting agency.
- Registration hold for a handicap violation ticket.
The sanctions listed above represent the first steps which will be taken for unresolved parking tickets. Additional measures may be taken depending upon the amount owed and the length of the ticket remains delinquent.
Payments must be received by the Parking Violation Bureau by the due date or late fees will be added.
If you are paying by check, please be certain that enough money exists
in your account to clear the check. The PVB charges a $25 Bounced Check
Fee for each check returned for insufficient funds. In addition, the payment
is removed, and any late fines which might have occurred past the date
that the check was received will be added to the ticket.
If your vehicle has been towed, some of the following options may not be available to you. Go to the Tow page of the website for payment information.
